Aahh, Summer

School is out and summer has arrived!  I wish I could say I was basking in the sun at this beautiful beach, but I'm not.  Instead, I am starting the task of organizing my children's rooms and finding where to put the mounds of things they brought home from school.  There are a lot of cute design elements you can use to organize a child's room.  A few of my favorites are...
These great hexagon shelves.  I love using these to store toys, lego creations, and knick knacks.  They can be purchased multiple places online and can even be custom painted on Etsy.
I love taking each piece of art and making a larger framed picture of each child's art work.  There are multiple companies online that offer this.  A great way to save memories without having to build on an extra room!

You can always make a photo book of art work as well.  Which is another great way to keep the pictures and art your children have made.

I love adding color and pattern with storage bins.  Large ones on the floor for blankets, etc. and smaller ones on book shelves add color and make a plain bookshelf more interesting!

And the Winner is...

I love painting!  For years I have sought out excuses to paint and repaint rooms.  It truly is therapeutic for me.  I always have inquiries for a great blue/grey/green color.  After years of painting this color, because it happens to be one of my favorites,  I have a few winners!  My #1 go to is...
Silvermist  SW7621
It is the perfect neutral I have used it with bright colors, monochromatic rooms, as well as in an entire house.  It really is a beautiful color.  I love how it does not pull too much blue or green.

Another great color worthy of mentioning is very similar to Silvermist, however it does pull a little more green.  Which in some lighting situations I prefer.  It is pictured above and it is
Oyster Bay SW6206

Outdoor space

We are finishing up an outdoor space for a client and have truly enjoyed bringing the indoors out! We were able to use lots of colors. We used yellow, orange, blue, and green. It is a happy and fun, outdoor pool and kitchen space.  This was our vision.....

It came to life as we planted mini palms....

added super fun outdoor accessories...

made sure there was a cute place for the kids to eat.....

and a lovely table for the adults too.

We have plenty of seating for parties and lots of function in this beautiful backyard.

We are waiting on a few final touches but we are happy with how it turned out! We have the best clients!! Watch for our post of the final reveal coming soon.

Saturday

A few fabulous finds...

Happy Spring Y'all!  I love the change of seasons and feeling the warmth of spring.  Granted, I live in Texas where it truly never gets too cold.  However, this winter has felt colder and longer than usual.  I am constantly sharing great finds with friends, my husband always warns my new friend's husbands about me.  I am always telling them about a great purchase and I really excited when I find a great deal!  Who doesn't!!  Aliza, is my name and I am so excited to finally have a moment to blog!  Living in Midland, Texas has lots of pros, but one major con is the lack of home decor stores!  I have had to turn to the internet and be brave enough to order furniture online.  I must say so far I have been very pleased!!  I have used the chair featured above in many clients homes, including my own.  It is at a great price point and the lines are fabulous!  I have young children and it even withstands their dirty hands.  It is found at http://www.homedecorators.com/P/Moore_Wingback_Chair/440/
and definitely a chair worth Craving.

A client recently wanted a dining room table that was different than the usual stand by, brown wood table.  We ordered this table through Ballard Designs, another online company.
http://www.ballarddesigns.com/messina-dining-table-76-22/furniture/category/dining-kitchen/dining-tables/292540  It is such a great statement piece.  In the picture it pulls a country feel, however it can be transitional.  We put it in a Contemporary space and it looks fabulous!  The top is zinc sheeting and the bottom solid hardwood that is distressed white.  It can be formal or casual.
(We not receive any compensation by promoting these products, they are based on my opinion:)

What We Crave

We are two friends, excited and ready to start on an adventure together.   For years we have shared a passion for Interior Decorating. As our kids have grown, we decided it was a good time to start design school together and learn more so that we could both pursue our dream.  So here we are!  Amidst the crazy schedules, we have found a way to balance life with our passion!  We both literally "Crave" design, hence where our name came from.  Watch for our "Cravings" and for many fabulous photos of rooms we just adore!

A little about us...

Hello bloggers! I am Katie, and I am so excited to be a part of this blog. Crave Interiors is our new business venture and we are super happy to be starting it! I have a love for all things related to interior design. I love pretty things. Walking into a well decorated space brings me great joy! I hope this blog and the things that we crave will bring you joy as well!

For our first post we wanted to share what we are craving right now, and I just can't seem to get enough of flowers.  Fresh flowers, flower prints, fake flowers, right now I just want these beauties everywhere. Maybe because our lovely West Texas just doesn't have enough of them.
Here are some of my favorites...
perfect for a wedding or party

Wallpaper is making a serious comeback, and I love this one from Anthropologie
I love to put flowers in ALL of my bathrooms. If you don't like to water a bunch of fresh ones, there are great fake options out there. Try it. You will thank me.

I hope these blooms brought you joy, like they do me! Come back and see us. We will do weekly cravings and client homes in between! Thanks y'all!
